Frequently asked questions

Do I have to commit straight away?
No. You can get in touch with absolutely no obligation. We are happy to advise you and find the best approach for your situation.

Can I try aikido first before signing up?
Yes. Your first visit is free and non-binding – you can come and watch or jump straight in and try a session.

Is aikido suitable for complete beginners or adults with no experience?
Yes. Aikido is suitable for children and adults regardless of previous sporting or movement experience.

What if I'm not sure whether aikido is right for me (or my child)?
That's exactly what we are here for 🙂 Send us a few lines about yourself (or your child) and we will be happy to recommend how to get started.

Do I need any special equipment?
No. Comfortable clothing is all you need for the first session (tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt). The training uniform (keikogi) only comes later, if you decide to continue.

How often are the training sessions?
We train regularly according to a fixed schedule. Children typically train once a week; adults train one to two times a week depending on age and availability.
